Trump Demands Biden Take Drug Test Before Debate

In a bold move, former President Donald Trump has publicly challenged President Joe Biden to take a drug test before their upcoming debate on June 27. Trump's assertion stems from his belief that Biden might be using performance-enhancing drugs, a claim he first made without evidence during the 2020 election cycle.

Speaking at a Republican event in Minnesota, Trump reiterated his demand, saying, "I just want to debate this guy, but you know—and I'm gonna demand a drug test too, by the way. I am. No, I really am". He accused Biden of being "high as a kite" during his most recent State of the Union address. Trump has consistently questioned Biden's mental acuity and physical stamina, suggesting that the president's occasional verbal stumbles indicate a need for medical intervention.

The Biden campaign has dismissed Trump's allegations as baseless and desperate. Kate Bedingfield, Biden's deputy campaign manager, responded sharply, stating, "Vice President Biden intends to deliver his debate answers in words. If the president thinks his best case is made in urine he can have at it". This rebuttal underscores the campaign's stance that Trump's claims are not grounded in reality and are merely attempts to distract from more pressing issues.

Trump's comments have sparked a flurry of media attention and political discourse. Kellyanne Conway, a former White House adviser to Trump, speculated that Biden might undergo some form of medical revitalization before the debate. "I wonder what's going to happen with him medically at Camp David for 10 days because we have no hard evidence that Joe Biden can stand anywhere, let alone at a podium, intimidated by Donald Trump feet away from him for 90 minutes without a teleprompter," Conway remarked.

This isn't the first time Trump has suggested his political opponents might be using drugs. During the 2020 presidential campaign, he made similar accusations against Biden, claiming that his improved performance in the Democratic primary debates was suspicious. Despite these repeated claims, Trump has not provided any concrete evidence to support his assertions.

The upcoming debate, which will be the first of three before the November election, is highly anticipated. Both candidates are expected to address critical issues such as the economy, the coronavirus pandemic, and the Supreme Court. Given the tight race, with polls showing a narrow lead for Trump, the debates could significantly influence the outcome of the election.

As the debate date approaches, Trump's demand for a drug test remains a controversial topic. While his supporters view it as a legitimate concern about Biden's fitness for office, critics argue that it is a distraction tactic aimed at undermining Biden's credibility. The Biden campaign has made it clear that they will not entertain Trump's demand, focusing instead on preparing the president to engage substantively with the issues facing the nation.

The political theater surrounding the drug test challenge highlights the intense scrutiny and high stakes of the 2024 presidential race. As both candidates gear up for their first face-to-face confrontation in Atlanta, the eyes of the nation will be watching closely to see how they handle the pressure and the accusations flying from both sides.

  1. Need a drug test before and after, DNA test to make sure it Joe and not a body double, and finger prints. Then maybe it will prove it’s Biden.
